Meet Jagraj!

Born and raised in South Vancouver, Jagraj was first introduced to sports at the age of 4, when he began watching the Vancouver Canucks. Growing up, culture and faith were very important to him, and he takes pride in his Sikh Heritage. Jagraj attended Walter Moberly Elementary, before attaining his high school diploma at David Thompson Secondary in 2022. After that, he spent two years at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, in the Broadcasting and Online Journalism program. Jagraj is no stranger to hard work and determination, as he got his first job at the young age of 14. He then went on to work for Canucks Sports & Entertainment as a Sales Associate, and later for the Junior Prospects Hockey League as a Play-by-Play commentator.


Jagraj attained multiple awards for his dedication to his 1st Language, as well as his education. He placed 1st in a Sikh History Exam in 2016, and scored 96% in his Punjabi provincial exam during his Grade 12 year. He has received multiple honour roll awards, as well as social responsibility awards for his activism in the community.


Jagraj is passionate about promoting sports within his culture, as well as expressing his excitement for the games through commentary and writing. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of his inspirations such as Mike Emrick, Harnarayan Singh, Mike Breen, and Kevin Harlan. He has made a high level of commitment to his journalism education, having been mentored by some of the top journalists in the country. Jagraj hopes that his skills learned in the past will assist him in his quest to achieve his goal of being a sports advocate for the Indian community. His passion for learning the skills of broadcasting and journalism is unparalleled.
